In a world where unexpected events can happen at any moment, the ability to react to an emergency is more crucial than ever. From natural disasters such as floods, earthquakes, wildfires, or tsunamis, to non-natural crises like cyberattacks or armed conflicts, unforeseen situations can destabilize our daily lives in an instant. However, being prepared to handle them calmly and effectively is possible.
In this talk, led by El Indio Supervivencia, you will learn how to prepare for any type of emergency without the need to be an expert or have sophisticated resources. The key is to have proper planning and essential items on hand to manage any unforeseen situation. During this 30-minute session, we will explore practical actions that everyone can take to be ready for the unexpected.
What will you learn in this talk?
Home Preparation: You will discover the key items that should always be available at home in case of a power outage or emergency. We will show you how to store water, non-perishable food, alternative lighting methods, tools for cooking without electricity, and a basic first aid kit. The goal is to ensure you have everything you need to be self-sufficient for several days without relying on external resources.
Survival Outside the Home: In situations where we need to leave our home, such as evacuations or disasters, you will learn how to prepare a 72-hour emergency kit, with essential items to survive for three days without external help. You will discover the 5 “C”s of survival (Cover, Cut, Combustion, Cordage, and Container) and how to use them to stay safe in urban or wilderness environments.
Food and Hydration: You will learn how to choose and store food that is easy to prepare and how to stay hydrated when access to basic resources is limited. We will also explore what a first aid kit should contain to address any basic medical emergency.
This talk will not only focus on theory but will also feature a practical demonstration of the 72-hour emergency kit, allowing participants to interact and closely examine the essential items needed for survival outside of their home.
You don’t need to be an expert or have major resources to be prepared. With a practical and accessible approach, this talk will provide you with the confidence and tools to handle any unforeseen event calmly and effectively.
